About Us
I, Madhava Rao P.C., set up this society (Regd. No. 189/08, Tenali, A.P.) to help parents and children in educational matters, career choices and living lives fully as a token of my gratitude to my native place, and society in general. I took voluntary retirement from Indian Railways after a good stint of 32 years.
It has been my experience during my serving period that rural youth keep searching for right combination of academic courses so that they get into a professional degree of their liking. They don’t usually get the advice they need near to their places of study. They often have to travel long distances incurring considerable time, and expenditure; and yet sometimes return dissatisfied. Most of the rural youth, having doubts on educational and career choices, belong to economically weaker sections of the social strata. I earnestly think this society will serve their needs in their endeavor.
Every parent desires to see their children as a software engineer, medical doctor, or management expert employed by an MNC duly drawing six figures salary. They dream of their wards to have sprawling houses and big ac cars for travel. Of late, they fail to see many openings in other professions as well. This dream puts enough pressure on the minds of the children and the stress and strain aggravates further when there is a conflict in the interests of the parents and the children. This is besides the burden of following different types of curriculum to write various competitive exams like AIEEE, EAMCET, JEE.
But the recent meltdown of global financial institutions, worsening economic situation, and evaporated market capitalization has burst the IT Services bubble. Youth employed in glossy services and non-core sector areas are increasingly facing the threat of pink slips glaring at them. However, professionals employed in infrastructure, basic amenities, manufacturing, entertainment, retail business etc are largely unaffected.
That’s why parents and students in X class and above have to be more careful in selecting their fields of study. They needn’t worry even if they don’t enter into engineering, medicine or computers. They may choose from a host of other disciplines like, Accountancy, Law, Journalism, Hospitality, Nursing, Entertainment, Media Arts etc. In fact in the current academic year, it’s understood that, Delhi University students have preferred Economics, Commerce, Maths, History, Mass Communication and English to traditional science and engineering subjects.
Thus, one can be judicious, in selecting courses depending upon current/future prospects, his/her interest, ability, economic condition, and more importantly, his/her dreams. That’s how I see a lot of scope in advising, guiding and counseling our rural youth for their betterment and benefit.
Internet is changing every aspect of our lives; the way we communicate and the way share. It’s unleashing our potential and creativity, pushing the boundaries of our experience beyond imagination. New medium gives an excellent opportunity for being interactive in spite of being far away from each other geographically.
Yes, children want change. Change in approach, change in attitude and change in shaping their careers. We intend to embody that change. Together we can make that difference, differently and definitely.
